  1. The Twisted Cork is a wonderful Venue that has so many songwriters and musicians. I think they have been overlooked. Please consider them. They are a icon in the Lexington music industry!

    1. Nominate them next year!! We don’t know what we don’t know! 🤷‍♀️

    2. Thanx for taking time to comment!
Yes, the Twisted Cork is an outstanding venue and has actually been nominated in the past. Are you familiar with the nominations process?
The public ballot is open for a couple months every year!

  2. WHY is it the SAME people every year??? There are sooooo many more AND better performers and songwriters around. These award shows are a joke…….Do you all ever look at the other artists???

    1. I agree 100%. Same people every year and so many more better Venues,(Twisted Cork for one, The Nook) performers, songwriters and better songs than the ones these bozoo’s nominate.

    2. Hellooooo… They have to be NOMINATED! How ‘bout you make that change!??

    3. I’ve never been nominated, and was nominated this year due to the support of a lot of my friends and family. So, this take is bogus.

    4. The Twisted Cork and The Nook have been nominated in previous years. I actually put them both on my ballot this year but they didn’t get enough votes to be nominated. I hope that the people complaining are at least filling out a ballot and putting up their favorite artists and venues for nomination.

    5. There are certainly repeat nominees from year to year, but I would assume it is because they mobilize their fan base during the open public ballot window (which last a couple months). Are you familiar with the voting process?
In short, we have a public vote (selects 2) AND a panel vote (selects 2) for a total of 4 nominees in each category.

  3. It’s the same thing in Nashville. There more talent on the streets than in the radio.

  4. IM SORRY BUT THIS LIST IS HORRIFYING. THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLE BEING OVERLOOKED AND IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS ONE BIG POPULARITY CONTEST. I AM A MUSICIAN OF LEXINGTON MYSELF AND HAVE NOT EVEN HEARD OF OR SEEN HALF OF THESE PEOPLE. THIS IS SAD.

    1. How about you help publicize for next year and nominate some new artists, INSTEAD OF YELLING AT EVERYONE!??

    2. Thanx for taking the time to comment!
Are you familiar with the voting process? We have both a public vote AND a panel vote, so the best way for folks to not be "overlooked" is to mobilize the fans, customers, etc when the public ballot opens.
Those of us who run the awards have NO VOTE at all - we leave it to the public and a pro panel that changes every year.

  5. Why do you call it the Lexington Music Awards? So many people nominated aren't from Lexington. Many of them are outstanding musicians, but not from Lexington. A lot of unknowns. Do you actually go and see live music?
